Meet the Team

Tom Brocklebank - Optometrist - Bsc(Hons)MCOptom GOC 01-20899

Tom joined the team at GLYN JONES OPTICIANS after graduating from Aston University in 2003. He underwent his pre-registration training at the practice and is now a Company Director.

In practice he has an interest in routine eye examinations and contact lens fitting. He is accredited on the local Paediatric Shared Care Scheme, MECS scheme and pre-operative cataract referral schemes.

Ian Hamilton - Optometrist - Bsc(Hons)MCOptom GOC 01-17658

Ian joined the team in 2002. He graduated from Aston University in 1997 and previously worked for Boots Opticians in Cheshire. He is now a Company Director at the practice.

As well as performing routine eye examinations, Ian is also accredited on the MECS scheme, pre-operative cataract referral scheme and post-operative shared care scheme.

Jon Clements – Optometrist - Bsc(Hons)MCOptom GOC 01-14436

Jon joined the practice in 2014 having been resident Optometrist at Boots Opticians in Newcastle-under-Lyme for 18 years. He graduated from Aston University in 1988.

As well as performing routine eye examinations, Jon is also accredited on the MECS scheme, Paediatric Shared Care Scheme, pre-operative cataract referral scheme and post-operative shared care scheme.

Philippa Hawksworth - Dispensing Optician – FBDO

Pip has worked for the practice since 1985 and underwent her Dispensing Optician qualification at Bradford University, qualifying in 1989. She is now also a Company Director.

Her 30 years in practice has allowed her to specialise in the dispensing of ophthalmic lenses and frames, contact lenses, ocular appliances and paediatric dispensing.

Alexandra Wildman - Dispensing Optician – FBDO CL

Alex joined the practice in 1993 and qualified as a Dispensing Optician in 2002. Further training allowed her to gain her Contact Lens Opticians qualification in 2004. She has a vast experience of both routine contact lens fitting and more specialised lenses such Orthokeratology (Ortho-K) and kerataconic patients.

Neil Huxley - Practice Manager - Bachelor of Arts ( honours) in Humanities 

Neil’s extensive background in manufacturing optics saw him join the practice as a member of our glazing lab team in 2003. In recent years he has undergone further training and now enjoys working as part of the dispensing team downstairs. As practice manager one of Neil’s key responsibilities is maintaining the high standards of customer care at GLYN JONES OPTICIANS.
