The new school year is upon us and it is important our children have the best vision possible for their future.

Hoya Miyosmart lenses are helping to manage the development of myopia in young children.

What is myopia? (short-sightedness)

Nothing is more important than the health and wellbeing of your child, now and in the future, you want to see your child thrive and that’s the key: seeing. You may have noticed your child struggling to see clearly at a distance, making it harder to concentrate at school and have a fulfilling experience at play. Your child may have myopia (short-sightedness). Visit or call us today and ask a member of staff for more information.

New season Sunglasses now in.

Myopia (short-sightedness) is a global concern

The incidence of myopia is expected to increase significantly as lifestyle changes, with children taking part in more near-work activities like using digital devices, studying, reading and spending less time outdoors. Hereditary, behavioural and environmental factors also play a part.

Being able to have your child’s myopia diagnosed early not only corrects their vision now, but can help slow the progression of myopia and preserve their vision and eye health for the future.

OCT screening will

safeguard your eye

health

You maybe thinking what is OCT?

OCT- Optical Coherence Tomography- is an advanced eye scan for people of all ages . Similar to ultrasound, OCT uses light

rather than sound waves to image the different layers that make up the structures at the front and the back of the eye.

The OCT machine captures both a photograph and a cross section scan of the eye at the same time.

What does it cost?

There is a small extra charge of £20 per test for your OCT scan, but the benefits are obvious, with the scans giving you and

your optometrist more information than ever before about the health of your eyes. OCT is only available with an eye examination.
